What is Super Trains:  First Ride?

The evil semi-truck ROLLAR is tormenting the wonderful robot citizens of the city. As one of The Super Trains you must save Gearland by delivering gears and passengers to specific locations, upgrading your train, solving emergencies, and battling Rollar.

Super Trains: First Ride blends cooperative gameplay with light competition, encouraging teamwork while still rewarding individual achievement through star scoring.

Players roll dice to generate gears, complete jobs around Gearland, and work together to solve the final emergency. While the group cooperates to stop Rollar, the Super Train with the most stars at the end of the game is declared the winner, keeping the experience exciting for kids and adults alike.

Who is this game for?

Super Trains: First Ride is ideal for families with younger players, parents looking for a screen-free game night option, and anyone introducing kids to board games for the first time.

Its shorter playtime and approachable mechanics make it especially well-suited for children ages six and up, while still offering enough strategy to keep adults engaged.

Competitive with Kindness™ - What That Means

Most kids’ board games fall into one of two camps:

  • Fully competitive, where blocking others is often the best move

  • Fully cooperative, where no single player ever truly wins

Super Trains does something different.

Players are competing to earn the most stars — but when a player runs into trouble, Kind Train cards create moments where helping another player can be the smartest choice.

Here’s how it works:

When a player can’t solve an emergency on their own, other players can choose to help by sharing gears. When they do, the helping player earns a Kind Train card — powerful, always-positive rewards that can be used later in the game.

That means kids quickly learn that:

  • Helping someone else can give you an advantage later

  • Kindness is part of the strategy

The result is a game that keeps the excitement of competition, without the hurt feelings — where kids cheer for big moments, support each other naturally, and still care deeply about winning.

That’s what we mean by Competitive with Kindness™.

How to Play Super Trains: First Ride

In Super Trains: First Ride, players take on the role of superhero trains racing around the robot city of Gearland — delivering passengers and cargo, upgrading their trains, and working together to stop the evil semi-truck Rollar.

Each turn is fast and exciting, and follows a simple two-phase flow.

On a player’s turn, they will:

🧠 Roll dice to generate gears and trigger new emergencies

At the start of every turn, dice rolls determine which gears trains generate — and whether Rollar attacks or moves, creating new problems across the city

🚆 Move their Super Train around the city
Players move their train up to five spaces along the tracks, planning routes to complete jobs while avoiding Rollar and unresolved emergencies

👨‍🏭 Drop off robot passengers and deliver cargo
Completing passenger and cargo jobs earns victory stars and upgrades trains with new gear generators, making them stronger as the game goes on

⚠️ Solve emergencies caused by Rollar
When emergencies appear, players must spend the right combination of gears to fix them — earning stars and keeping the city safe

💖 Help other trains and earn Kind Train cards
If a player can’t solve an emergency alone, other players can pitch in by sharing gears. Helping earns Kind Train cards — always-positive rewards that grant special powers, movement boosts, or extra stars later in the game

The adventure continues as Rollar causes bigger and tougher emergencies. Once the final Rollar emergency appears, every player gets two final turns to score as many stars as possible.

🚆 The Super Train with the most stars wins the game.
