"One of the best kids board games I have ever played."

Tom Vasel - The Dice Tower

Competitive with Kindness™ - What That Means

Most kids’ board games fall into one of two camps:

  • Fully competitive, where blocking others is often the best move

  • Fully cooperative, where no single player ever truly wins

The Quest Kids does something different.

Players compete to earn the most stars.
But when someone runs into trouble, they can ask for help.
Helping earns rewards — and those rewards help you win.

Here’s how it works:

When a player can’t defeat a monster on their own, other players can choose to help by sharing ability cards. When they do, the helping player earns a Kind Kid card — powerful, always-positive rewards that can be used later in the game.

That means kids quickly learn that:

  • Helping someone else can give you an advantage later

  • Kindness isn’t charity — it’s part of the strategy

The result is a game that keeps the excitement of competition, without the hurt feelings — where kids cheer for big moments, support each other naturally, and still care deeply about winning.

That’s what we mean by Competitive with Kindness™.

How to Play The Quest Kids

In The Quest Kids, players take turns exploring a magical dungeon, battling silly monsters, and collecting gems and stars on their way to victory.

On each turn, a player can either explore a new dungeon tile or deal with a challenge already in play.

As the dungeon is explored, players will:

🧩 Reveal dungeon tiles that may contain monsters, abilities, treasure, or special items

🃏 Use ability cards (Power, Wisdom, and Magic) to scare away monsters and overcome challenges

📜 Complete Quest cards with unique goals to earn stars

💖 Help out their friends when they need help during a battle...and earn a reward for that kindness

💎 Collect gems and treasure that score points at the end of the game

The adventure continues until all dungeon tiles have been explored. After a final round to resolve any remaining challenges, players count up their stars.

The Quest Kid with the most stars at the end of the adventure wins.
